Malphonia is Ballroom Johnson on accordion and vocals, Steven Mastroianni on trumpet and euphonium, Milenko Budimir on Micro-Percussion™ and Slavic vocalizing, and also featuring guest virtuosos Jonathan Fairman on tuba, Brian McKeon on trombone and trumpet, and Mike Zubal on double bass.
Malphonia is a chamber ensemble specializing in acoustic renderings of popular tunes spanning the centuries in a casual, rock-star neutral environment, and with occasional forays into otherwise odd time signatures. As leading advocates of the “open carry” of musical instruments, we strive to provide an authentic, non-electrified auditory experience.
